Adrenaline doesn't even begin
to say it. This boar was a real master of the woods, and outdid us
and our dogs for a very rough, full day and into the night. At the moment of truth, Ray Nelson handled his .44 mag pistol with deadly accuracy. He gunned this venerable warrior down in a head on charge, and showed that his grit equaled his opponent's. Ray's is an extremely unusual looking hog. The view below shows an awesome set of teeth -- it also shows that this amazing boar knew how to use them: His incredible shield shows up as the monumental bulk of his shoulders. |

A boar's
shield is made up of scar tissue and cartilage, and it builds up over the
years. This boar did not shy away from confrontation - he was wall
to wall scars. We've never before seen a shield of these amazing proportions on a hog. |
Here's Kriss Begala and buddy Skip Akrige with their great, one shot, trophy hog. They said they got it for a big birthday pig roast, and they said next time they won't wear shorts! See Kriss's other amazing trophy - page 1 native game. |
